Google talk voice chat from linux

Hellow friends, To use voice chat from a linux machine to gtalk user from a windows system

Use jabbin from http://sourceforge.net/projects/jabbin

But i noticed that if the windows user is using googles client for gtalk the voice wont be audible eventhough pressing call button leads to ringing on the opposite end.

But if windows users uses jabbin's windows version at their end ,voice chat works fine .

here are the pictures to learn how to configure jabbin with in 5minutes. User interface is similar in both windows and linux(thanks to qt from trolltech)

Alternative is to use skype .

Keep these tips:

Best to start from beginning: Windows( i hope majority uses it ,:) )

If its damn slow and full of craps/games/ virii then
* Format your entire system: Important... You should back up your data else may end up crying..
* Install a fresh windows ,Go for XP if your ram is less than 1Gb ( i wont install vista as long as i dont have 2GB :) )
* Install a good anti virus( Please dont use any pirated/cracked antivirus..If you want them the please buy and use them.... else again dont use pirated/cracked as many of those are very 'good' SPYWARES which will steal your personal data).

* I suggest antivir and avast ,you can get its free versions at
http://www.avast.com/eng/programs.html (use the free home edition)
http://www.free-av.com/ (antivir)

Again beware please dont download it from any other sites, There is a process called exe binding( more later) in short by this method some malicious code can be deployed along with a useful program/games/etc and will be installed in your system.
so down load a fresh copy and use it.

As long as this step is finished ,dont surf any other sites on the net.....

install the AV(antivirus) and update it.

* Next download and install MOZILLA / OPERA and use it to browse the net....

again dont take it from any other sites........

* Now go to your control panel User accounts and Create a new limited user account and turn off the guest account. From now onwards you will be using your user account for your browsing and 95-99% of your computer usage. Also create an other account as computer administrator and give a good password(letters+numbers+symbols+meaningless words)

am getting bit buisy...so will put up more soon.... so till that use your user account : again dont use admin account carelessly...

till then practice SAFE HEX.... Yaa am basically a Medical Doctor HEX ... is bit analogus to sex in the context of HIV.. HEX here means binaries ie executables (exe,scr,cpl etc)So dont simply download and run screen savers,games ,share wares and think twice before running an executable for the first time (of foreign origin).

One more thing.... before putting your pen drive or any similar storage item ipod,memory card...,CD,DVD in to the system keep the right shift key pressed and keep it pressed for 10-20seconds even after the CD is put inside/usb is plugged. Then to open the device again dont double click it in my computer- use right click and use explore. .......

Few Easy steps to get rid of pendrive malwares..

Now a days USB drives(Pen drives are very common) .The annoying fact is many a
time it can act as an agent for transmitting malicious programs like viruses, worms,key loggers and trojan horses.

Mode of infection: Computers affected with viruses will place a copy of the virus in your pen drive. Along with it it will keep a file called Autorun.inf. When we plug in this USB device in to a clean computer ,it will read the autorun.inf and that contains information on which program to start(ie the viral program) atomatically.

If you double click the usb drives icon in MyComputer ,then also it will execute the virus code.Once a viral code is executed then you are gone .It can make systemwide
changes to make itself hidden and non removable and will try to spread from your system.

Usually(not allways --i wil explain soon) right clicking on the pen drive icon and choosing explore is a safer option.
